Who I am
Health is a balance between body, mind, emotions and environment and returning to it is always possible.
I'm Catarina, Kate for many. My path began in nature, in the hills of Serra da Arrábida, where I grew up surrounded by medicinal plants and the living wisdom of my grandparents. I began practising yoga at 12, and it was then that I understood that health goes far beyond the physical body: it is a balance between body, mind, emotions and environment.
Personal challenges in childhood led me into a profound process of inner transformation and that experience became the beginning of my search to understand human beings in an integrated way, and to support others on their own path of healing and reconnection.
I studied Naturopathy at the Instituto de Medicina Tradicional in Lisbon, then deepened my knowledge in Ayurveda, Ortho-molecular Nutrition and Psychoneuroimmunology. I trained as a Clinical Trauma Specialist at the Arizona Trauma Institute, and studied Phytotherapy and Manual Therapies at the Escola de Medicina Chinesa da Estefânia. I began my formation in Anthroposophic Medicine at the Arlesheim Academy in Switzerland an approach that deeply inspires me for the way it integrates the physical, emotional and spiritual in clinical practice. I am currently continuing my studies at the School of Health in London.
